BB&T has promoted Garnet Reynolds to market president.
Reynolds brings more than 15 years of experience in the banking industry to his new role.
The Newnan native earned a bachelor’s of business administration from The University of Mississippi with a double major in banking and finance, and real estate. Reynolds also completed a graduate degree of banking at Louisiana State’s University School of Banking.
A 1997 graduate from Newnan High School, Reynolds moved back to his hometown to start his career in the mortgage industry. After five years in the mortgage industry, Reynolds moved for an opportunity in the Business Banking and Commercial Lending division. Reynolds joined BB&T in March of 2012, and was attracted to the bank due to the culture and the values the bank represented.
Reynolds gives the credit for his success to his wife, clients, mentors, and the associates he has had the opportunity to work with throughout his career. “Anytime a company empowers you to do the right thing for your client and your associates, the relationships you build will last forever,” Reynolds said.
Reynolds is a current member of the Newnan Coweta Chamber of Commerce, Newnan Rotary Club, First United Methodist Church, and a board member of Abby’s Angels Foundation. He has previously served on the board of Communities In Schools, and he is a past graduate of Leadership Coweta. Reynolds is married to his wife, Leigh, and they have two boys, David and Whit.
He will be based at the bank’s main branch at 295 Bullsboro Drive.
