From Staff Reports
Local company Home Helpers of Georgia and Alabama recently was presented with a pair of national awards.
Executive Director Grant Dow leads the Newnan-based company, stepping into the leadership role that his parents – Beth and Phillip Dow – held for many years. The national recognition came in the areas of company growth and client satisfaction.
The first honor was a 2018 Pinnacle Club Award for growth among the Home Helpers locations. The Newnan office was recognized as the No. 3 office in growth for the past year.
The second accolade – Provider of Choice Award – was presented by Home Care Pulse. Home Helpers of Georgia and Alabama scored 97 percent in client satisfaction. The scores were gathered by an independent research firm based on monthly interviews of current and past clients.
“We are extremely pleased to be recognized nationally by our peers,” said Grant Dow. “The top priority of Home Helpers of Georgia and Alabama is to always offer exceptional home care for our clients and I believe these two honors reflect that. Our staff strives for excellence and consistently looks to be a leader in pioneering innovation in senior care.”
Members of the Newnan-based administrative team include Shanira Johnson, Care Director; Kathy Howard, Community Sales Director; and Chris Waugh, Director of Operations.
Beth is stepping away from some of the day-to-day duties at Home Helpers and will take some time for travel and family, but will remain involved as a Brand Ambassador and in an advisory and support role to the administrative team. She will still host workshops on caregiving education for families, senior provider education, CEUs for Social Workers and RNs and many other roles.
She will continue to work with families to develop plans for their senior loved ones.
“I love to teach and to share the best practices of caring for our seniors, especially those with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias,” Beth said. “I also remember, as a family caregiver, how lost I felt when trying to figure out how best to care for my grandparents and parents. My passion is education and providing inspiration to professional and family caregivers – to empower them – not only to help their aging loved ones, clients and families, but also to help themselves and feel confident in doing so.”
