From Special Reports

Think Halloween meets the folks from the Wizard of Oz and you have Newnan’s annual Munchkin Masquerade.

The annual Downtown Newnan Trick-or-Treat affair for the little ones is scheduled for Halloween morning – 10 a.m. to Noon. Children and parents from around the area will stroll around Downtown and the Courthouse Square to collect treats from downtown businesses.

And best of all, the weather forecast for Halloween day is almost perfect. The Munchkins can expect sunny skies with temperatures in the low-to-mid 60s during the event.

Costumes are always encouraged and welcomed. Crowds in the past have reached an estimated 1,000 participants. Click the link to view photos from The Shopper Munchkin Masquerade Photo Gallery a year ago – 2017 Munchkin Masquerade.

Free public parking is available along downtown streets and in the numerous off-street lots located on the corner of LaGrange Street and Spring Street; First Avenue and Spring Street; East Broad Street and Perry Street; and East Washington Street and Perry Street.
