From Special Reports
The Senoia Optimist Club will host a Blood Drive on Monday, Aug. 6 at the Senoia United Methodist Church.
The event is from 1 to 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. The Senoia UMC is also a co-sponsor and is located at 229 Bridge Street in the historic district of Senoia.
Donors will get to sample the “famous” grilled cheese sandwiches by the Senoia Optimist Club along with the goodies provided by the American Red Cross. There just may be home-made cookies available, too! Free coupons associated with several of the Senoia area businesses will also be provided to donors.
Donors at the Senoia blood drive are again asked to bring one or more non-perishable food items. These items will be made available to a local food bank in order to help those around us who are in need.
While “walk-ins” are welcome, potential donors may either sign up online at
http://www.redcrossblood.org/ or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). In addition, Senoia Optimist Club member and blood drive coordinator Ellen Ingram may be contacted at 770-842-4533.
There is a need for all blood types. You are encouraged to please schedule an appointment to donate blood or platelets today.
The Senoia Area blood drive is held at the Senoia United Methodist Church on a quarterly basis. The events traditionally fall on the first Monday of February, May, August, and November. After this event, the next blood drive for the Senoia area and beyond will be Nov. 5.
